Next Class January 28, 2012 "Home made pasta, ravioli and gnocchi with sauces" Cook, Eat, Laugh - Bring friends and make it a party

Cooking with Beer- You will make an appetizer of Mussels with beer, Guinness Beef Stew and hearty bread made with the grain leftover from the beer brewing process. There will also be a basic beer brewing discussion.

Flavors of Italy- You will make fresh mozzarella cheese to add to tomato and basil for an appetizer, chicken picatta and Marsala quintessential and finish with Zabaglione an Italian custard served with fresh berries.

Bread Making 101- Learn some tips and trick on how to get the perfect crust, types of yeast, proper kneading techniques, types of flour to use

Cooking with Wine- Wine is a complex beverage and it's use in cooking has many implications. Where does the flavor come from and how will it affect my recipe? What about the alcohol? Just how do I incorporate wine into my cooking repertoire? Come and learn how wine can liven up your cooking!

Home made gnocchi and ravioli- In this fun, hands-on class, you'll be rolling in dough to make the freshest, lightest gnocchi - little dumplings - bathed in tasty, tempting sauces. You'll practice making these heavenly little pillows, and top them with a variety of sauces then its on to ravioli. In this class our instructor will show you how to make raviolis that you'll use to make countless delicious dishes.

Jacob Hill Inn Welcomes our cooking instructor team from the Professor Chef, Phillip Griffin and his wife Malinda Coletta. Phil is a graduate and former instructor from Johnson and Wales University and award winning chef. Malinda is an award winning cook and is a certified professional Food Manager. Both are passionate about instructing others on the joys of cooking.

Classes are approximately 2- 21/2 hours and are centered around the preparation of each particular cooking method. As part of your "Fun for Foodies Vacation" you will also receive our list of "Everyday Bites," which are local foodie-favorite places to add to your itinerary as desired or just spend your time relaxing at the Inn between eating, cooking and eating.
